WHEN THE STUDENT IS READY, THE MASTER WILL APPEAR
In a recent article I said I would begin to share my experience of what it has been like for me to have the great opportunity to attend Hua Zhang Si Buddhist temple. My first encounter with Hua Zhang Si, came about because I was seeking a place to further my education in Buddhist studies and meditation, I was actually contemplating going to a Buddhist university and obtaining a degree in that field of study. When about that time I came across a shop owner with information pertaining to Hua Zhang Si, the owner was very sincere and compassionate in demeanor and I was impressed. I decided to attend the following weekend for they were having a special assembly. Before that weekend I had never been to a true Buddhist temple, my studies had been informal gatherings with other meditators and self-proclaimed Buddhist, and what I had read in books, magazines and other media. My first encounter was a bit surprising.
在最近的一篇文章中，我说我将开始分享一下我有机会参加华藏寺学佛的经历。我第一次到华藏寺来是因为我正在寻找一个地方来学习佛陀的教导和学习禅坐冥想。当时，我其实是考虑去一个佛教的大学取得佛教的学位。就在那时候，我突然遇到了一位店主，他给了我有关於华藏寺的信息，店主非常诚恳和慈悲的态度，令我非常印象深刻。於是我决定参加下个周末在华藏寺举行的法会。在这个周末之前，我从来没有去过一个真正的佛教寺庙。我之前的学习是与其他冥想者和自称佛教徒的非正式聚会，另外我也会在书籍跟杂志甚至其他媒体上读过一些佛陀的教导。这次参加华藏寺的法会是我第一次参加的佛教法会，我觉得相当的震撼和殊胜。
