WHEN THE STUDENT IS READY, THE MASTER WILL APPEAR
My first time going to Hua Zhong Si was for a Dharma Assembly. It was jam packed from front to back. The service was in Chinese but there was an interpreter for English speaking attendees. It was a bit of culture shock in that most people were Chinese and all the monastics were Chinese women. For some reason I thought only men became Monk’s. The assembly was very well organized and quite beautiful. I admit I was confused and a little intimidated, but the people were very nice and helpful. Compassionate really. In all honesty I would not have returned if were not for the effort the people made to welcome me. My experience of feeling the compassion of the Buddha is what drew me back.
我第一次去华藏寺是为了去参加一个法会。当我去的时候，看到参与法会的人非常之多，水泄不通。虽然主持法会是用中文讲的，但是很温馨的会一位英语会话的口译员即时翻译。这是一个文化的冲击，大多数来参加的法会的都是华人，所有的出家僧都是比丘尼。以前由於知见不正，我认为只有男人可以出家成为和尚。此法会组织得很好，很庄严。我承认我很困惑，有点被吓倒，但是法会现场的师兄姐非常的乐於助人。非常仁慈。老实说，我就是看到大家这麽欢迎我，所以我才继续参加往後的活动。不仅如此，我感受到佛陀的慈悲，这感受就像是我回到家了。
